Henry Goldsworthy Jr., 94, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice unit.
Henry was born on January 1, 1924 in Taylor, PA, the son of the late Henry and Laura (Ellis) Goldsworthy.
Henry was a graduate of Taylor High School the class of 1941. He also obtained an Associate’s degree from Scranton Lackawanna College majoring in Accounting. Henry served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1952. Henry retired as a Management Analyst from Picatinny Arsenal, in NJ.
Henry was a member of Green Pond United Methodist Church, in Easton, PA, the VFW, Taylor volunteer fire department, and a board member of Succasunna United Methodist Church, in NJ. He enjoyed golfing, making stain glass, water color painting, and delivering meals on wheels to local residence.
Henry is survived by a son Paul Goldsworthy and his wife Pat, of Adirondack, NY, a daughter Laura Matulewicz and her husband Matt, of Palmer Twp.; sister Jean Peters, of Jeannette, PA; 5 grandchildren Jason, Sean, Kristin, Justin, and Amy, 2 great grandchildren, Ella and Levi, plus 2 future arrivals are expected to join the family in the upcoming months. In addition to Henry’s parents and wife Mary Jayne (Powell) Goldsworthy, he is preceded in death by brother Robert Goldsworthy, and sister Sally Hainsworth.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Pond United Methodist Church, 4411 Green Pond Rd. Easton, PA. Services are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc. Palmer Twp., PA
