Agnes G. Caffrey, 97, formerly of Forks Township and Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 in Country Meadows, Bethlehem.
Agnes was born in Three Springs, PA, a daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Balles) Tokar.
Agnes was married to Aloysius A. Caffrey until his passing in 1999. She was a graduate of St. Vincent's School of Nursing, and received her Bachelor's Degree in Public Health from St. John's University. She was a Nurse for Brooklyn Visiting Nurse Association and a supervisor of Public Health for Englewood Hospital, Englewood, NJ until retiring in 1972. In her spare time, Agnes was a quilter, seamstress and knitter; and was a member of the Palmer Library knitting group.
She was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Palmer Township. When she and her husband, who served as a Deacon, were living in CA, they regularly organized food distribution to the poor in Los Angeles.
Agnes is survived by her daughters Mary Ellen Gambutti and husband Phillip of Sarasota, FL, Julie Ann Julio of Seattle, WA, Shannon Caffrey of New Orleans, LA; a granddaughter Jennifer Moran of Chicago, IL; a grandson Brandon Delbuck of Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren Shaya and Zachary Maddex of Chicago, IL; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a brother Vincent Tokar.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. A private burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery.
