Obituary

Albert DiPasquale, 103, of Easton, PA, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 in his home. Albert was born in the Abruzzi area of Italy in 1912, a son of the late Pasquale and Catherine (DOttovio) DiPasquale. He came to the USA in 1913, grew up on a farm in Quakertown, PA, and settled in Easton in 1936. Albert was married to the late Anne (Cardinale) DiPasquale before her passing in 1999. Al and Anne started Als Cleraners in 1942. In 1949, Al relocated the store to its present location of 1134 Northampton Street, through the 1950s and 1960s, he expanded the store to its present size, becoming a fixture in the Easton Community for 64 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and sponsoring leagues. Al became an avid golfer, enjoyed Wednesday Poker night, and enjoyed dancing with his friends, to the music of his son in the last ten years. Albert was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the Easton Optimist Club, serving as its president twice. Albert is survived by a son Gary DiPasquale and wife Lindy of Easton; a daughter-in-law Santa DiPasquale; a sister Florence Bruno of Norristown, PA; brothers Patrick DiPasquale of Allentown, Gino DiPasquale of FL; six grandchildren: Anita Mitchell, Kelly Malone, Jeff DiPasquale, Cathy Schwar, Nicholas DiPasquale and Nina Kressley; six great-grandchildren: Ben and Ali Jay Miller, Mackenzie and Lorna Kressley, Kyle Malone, and Bernie Schwar. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by a son Albert V. DiPasquale in 1980; brothers Dominic, Anthony, and Joseph DiPasquale; and his beloved friend Kitty Taylor. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with an additional calling hour on Thursday from 8:15 am to 9:15 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th & Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.
