Angelo Iacono, 95, of Allentown passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at home with his family by his side. Born in Easton on December 16, 1928, he was a son of the late Calogero and Calogera (Cravotta) Iacono. He graduated from Easton High School, class of 1946. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan from 1946-1947 as part of the Army of Occupation. Upon his discharge, he earned his Bachelor's in Education from East Stroudsburg University in 1952 and earned his Master's in Education from Lehigh University in 1965. He also acquired an additional 45 post Master's degree credits from Lehigh University.

Angelo dedicated his life to shaping young minds. He worked as an elementary teacher from 1952 to 1966 in Caldwell Twp., NJ and later in Allentown, PA. He was the Assistant Professor of Education at Muhlenberg College from 1967 to 1968. From 1968 to 1971, he was the first principal of the Edward Tracy Elementary School. Angelo's commitment to education extended beyond teaching, he served as the field representative for Pennsylvania State Education Association for 21 years. Angelo was the author of Football Highlights at Easton High School from 1894-1964. In 2018, Angelo was honored by the Easton Area High School Athletic Department and given a Special Recognition Award by the Wall of Fame Committee.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Reichard, his life partner since 1986. Angelo and Ann married in 2007. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael S. Iacono of North Hollywood, CA; Timothy L. Iacono of Williston, VT; sisters, Lena Nyffenegger and Grace Ealer. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Recchia, Lucy DeRemer, a sister Maria who died in infancy and a sister Theresa who died in childhood; brothers; Ignazio Iacono, Paul Iacono, Thomas Iacono and Joseph Iacono.

Services are private at the request of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton (Palmer Twp.). In lieu of flowers, contributions in Angelo's memory may be made to the Lehigh County Humane Society, or to the Alzheimer's Foundation or St. Lukes Hospice.
