Anthony J. Amato, 84, of Easton, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in New Eastwood Care & Rehabilitation Center. Anthony was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late Pat and Lucy (Napoli) Amato. Anthony was married to the former Jane Vandegrift, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage last January 29. He was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1948. He was a manager for Acme Markets before retiring in 1988. He enjoyed playing cards and golfing with his friends and also going to the casinos. Anthony was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and the Fleas Club. In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by a son Anthony D. Amato of Easton; a daughter Lucy A. Lu Jones and husband Jerry of Easton; grandchildren Ryan Amato, Kelsey Jones; great-grandchildren Preston, and Ryenn. He is preceded in death by a brother Joseph Amato. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 8:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp).
