Obituary

Anthony J. Hanni, Jr., 77, of Easton, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022. Born in Easton on October 4, 1945, he was a son of the late Jean (Monaco) and Anthony J. Hanni, Sr. He graduated from Notre Dame High School, class of 1963. During his time at Notre Dame, he played basketball and was on the track team where he held records for over 20 years. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Moravian University in 1967. Anthony served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a First Lieutenant. He would later attend Officer Candidate School where he would sit at the top 10% of his class, earning him a spot on the commandant's list. He worked at Keystone Family Restaurant, Downtown Amusements with his friend, Boots and later at Boomerang Beverage.

Anthony was an avid Notre Dame fan and loved to watch their games. He liked to exercise and keep active. He was a man of great faith who was very active in Our Lady of Lebanon Church and community. Anthony's greatest enjoyment in life was his family. He loved his children, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and adored his grandchildren. He was the biggest fan of his grandchildren and never missed any of their sporting events.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie H. (Roberts) Hanni, with whom he spent 54 wonderful years of marriage; daughter, Christine Hennings and husband, Henry of Easton; sons, James Hanni of Easton, David Hanni of Easton; grandchildren, Anthony Buttillo, Olivia Buttillo, Noah Buttillo, Hayden Hanni; sister, Linda Hanni-Minnich and companion Skip of Palmer Twp.; brothers, Robert Hanni and wife, Evelyn of Palmer Twp., John Hanni and his companion Mary of Bath; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins here and in Australia and Lebanon.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, Fourth and Ferry Streets, Easton, PA. A Divine Liturgy will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will take place at Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp., PA. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) 18045. Memorial contributions in Anthony's name may be made to the church or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Online condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com .
