Name: Anthony J. Scarano, 82 of Wilson Borough, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 in Easton Hospital. Born: He was born July 18th, 1927 in Easton a son of the late Vincent and Philomena (Servodio) Scarano. Personal: Anthony was married to Mary C. (Sirianni) Scarano for 55 years this past January 15th. In his early years he was employed as a mechanic at the former Bethlehem Steel in the Motor Repair Department. Prior to working at the Bethlehem Steel, he worked for Stokes Engineering formerly of Easton, PA. Most of his life, Anthony and his wife Mary dedicated themselves to their customers at Prices Ice Cream of Morris St. in Phillipsburg. They purchased the property in 1953 and worked the business together for 6 decades to the delight of multiple generations of local families. Memberships: Anthony was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Easton, PA. He was also a member of the Phillipsburg Lions Club where he held several offices, and IRMA, Independent Retail Merchants Association. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by a sister Rosemary DeMenno of Wilson Boro, PA, and many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by sisters Martha Agretto, Catherine Williams, Antoinette Parino, and Theresa Azzolina, and brothers Dominick and Michael Scarano. Services: Calling hours will be held Monday September 21st , from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again Tuesday September 22nd, from 8:15 am until 9:15 am in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc. 3720 Nicholas Street Palmer Twp., PA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in at 10:00 am in ST. BERNARDS ORATORY 132 S. 5TH ST. EASTON, PA. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.
