Anthony Peter Mariani, "Tony," 75 of Palmer Township and formerly of Plains Township passed away on October 15, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospice, Saucon Valley.

Born April 27, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Alfred A. Mariani Sr. and Clara Baldassini Mariani.

He graduated in 1967 from Sacred Heart High School in Plains, PA. He attended Temple University School of Pharmacy and graduated with honors in 1972. He was a member of the Rho Chi Pharmaceutical honor society.

Tony was a registered pharmacist and worked as a district manager for Thrift Drug, Eckerd, and Rite Aid for 44 years. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Easton, PA where he was a lector and an usher. Tony was also a Festa Volunteer for many years and an RCIA facilitator.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Kathleen Stasik Mariani, daughter Allyson J. Mariani of Denver, Colorado, son Staff Sgt. Anthony Phillip Mariani of the United States Army, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Donna and Rick Sabol. He was predeceased by brothers John P. Mariani and Alfred A. Mariani Jr.

He was an avid shooter and gun collector and a member of the NRA. Tony was a lifelong New York Yankees fan, and he loved old movies, especially film noir. The Maltese Falcon was his favorite of this genre, and his favorite movie of all time was Casablanca. He coached baseball and basketball in Palmer Township.

Tony looked forward to getting together for lunch with high school classmates and other Rite Aid retirees. He was a member of the Ambassadors Club and enjoyed going to meetings and on bus trips.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) An additional calling hour will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 8:15 AM until 9:15 AM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Ninth and Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, William Penn Highway, Palmer Twp. In lieu of flowers, Tony asked that donations, in his memory, be made to the Allentown Rescue Mission at 355 Hamilton St., Allentown, PA 18101 or at allentownrescuemission.org.
