Arthur Mathis, 76, of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Easton Hospital. Arthur was born in Bronx, NY, a son of the late Francis and Cecilia (Kaufman) Mathis. Arthur was married to the former Eileen Curtin, with whom he would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this November 20. He was a graduate of Morris High School in Bronx, NY, class of 1955. Arthur was a Database Analyst at Cigna for over 30 years, before retiring in 1993. He was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles, and enjoyed golf, listening to Elvis and other Oldies. In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived by his sons Steven Mathis and wife Debra of Chelmsford, MA, James Mathis and wife Barbara of Palmer; daughters Dorothy Dashe and husband Stephen of Bethlehem, Marie Boyle and husband Daniel of Easton; a brother Dr. Edward J. Mathis and wife Lucille of Media, PA; grandchildren Meghan, Stephen Jr., James Jr., Ryan, Kirsten, Jessica, Corey, and Nicole. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with an additional calling hour on Monday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 am in St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Easton, PA. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.
