Obituary

Barry Coach W. Brodt, 61, of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 in St. Lukes Hospital, Anderson Campus.

Barry was born in Easton, PA, a son of Robert Brodt, and the late Helen (Dilts) Brodt.

Barry was married to the former Joan L. Schedler, with whom he celebrated 39 years of marriage last August. He was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1973. He attended Penn State University and Mercer Community College for Aviation. Barry was an Owner/Operator for TastyKake, Pepperidge Farms and Frito Lay distributors before retiring in 2016. He loved his grandchildren, was an avid golfer, and was a dedicated fan of the Raiders, Yankees, Flyers and Penn State. He had a passion for baseball, coaching for Notre Dame (Green Pond), Allentown Central Catholic, Wilson High School, Easton Legion and Revolution Baseball as well as Pius X Softball.

Barry was a beloved coach for multiple sports in Palmer and Lower Nazareth Athletics and a member of the Mens Senior Baseball League, K&S Quoits Golf League and Easton/Palmer Mens Softball Leagues.

In addition to his wife, Barry is survived by his sons Barry E. Brodt and wife Nicole of Nazareth, Ryan J. Brodt and wife Gina of Springfield; his sisters Bonnie Welty and husband Dennis of Walnutport, Suzanne Franklin of Plattsburgh, NY, Kathy Schultz and husband Bill of Nazareth, Dianne Brodt of Easton; brothers David Brodt and wife Cindy of Easton, Steven Brodt and wife Sofia of Seoul, Korea; grandchildren Madison, Cameron and Mia; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Saturday morning from 9:30am to 10:30am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Funeral Service will be on Saturday at 10:30am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
