Obituary

Benjamin Joseph Cavotta Jr., 80, of Palmer Township, passed away Saturday, January 22 nd , 2022. Benjamin was born In Easton, PA a son of the late Benjamin and Mildred (Schaubhuth) Cavotta Sr.

Benjamin was employed for many years as a black seal boiler operator at Ingersoll Rand and had previously worked at JT Baker Chemical Company both of Phillipsburg, NJ. Most recently he retired from the County of Northampton where he was employed as a black seal boiler operator at Gracedale nursing home.

Benjamin served as the president of the New Jersey Astronomical Association in Voorhees, NJ where he also taught adult education of astronomy. He was a lifelong lover of science fiction and an avid bowler in work leagues for many years. He attended East Stroudsburg university and Lafayette College and later earned his associates degree from Churchman's Business School.

He survived by his wife the former Loretta Jule Buckley, sons Kevin Cavotta and wife Anita De Matteo of Hackettstown, NJ and Adam Cavotta and his wife Melissa of Las Cruces NM. He is survived by five grandchildren Catalina, Rachel, Diego, Nathan and Madison. He is also survived by his brothers Richard Cavotta of Bangor, PA and William Cavotta of Concord, NC.

Benjamin's celebration of life gathering will be held later this year. Memorial contributions in Benjamin's name may be made to the American Cancer Society at donate3.cancer.org. Arrangements are under the direction of the Morello Funeral Home Inc 3720 Nicholas Street Easton, (Palmer Township) PA.
