Our loving mother and grandmother, Bernice Mae Bonstein, 89, of Easton passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 4, 1934 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Cornelia (Bourguignon) Rufe.

She graduated from Phillipsburg High School and worked as a secretary at Ingersoll Rand many years ago. She then held the greatest position of mother to her five children. She was married to Arthur Bonstein for 65 years before his passing in 2018.

Bernice is survived by her many family members and extended family members including daughter Wendy Bonstein; daughter Terry Knibbs and her family, Kristine Shay and husband Tyler, Ryan Knibbs, Robert Knibbs, Jr., and great grandson Tyler Faur and wife Meg; daughter Michele Morello wife of John Morello and their family, Christopher Morello and wife Emily, Jillian McNally and husband Kyle, and Jonathan Morello; son Mark Bonstein, his children, Parker Bonstein and Chase Bonstein and their mother Paula Bonstein; daughter Sharon Engle and her daughter Cassandra Mahmoud and great grandchildren Sahara, Yasin, Liam and Lily; sister Irene Katz and family; brother, Frederick Rufe and family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bernice was preceded in death by her son-in-law Robert Knibbs, Sr.; sister Pauline Kennedy; and brother Richard Rufe.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) An additional calling hour will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the funeral home from 9:30 am until 10:30 am followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am.
