Obituary

Catherine S. (Santillo) Fisher, 68, of Easton, formerly of Clinton, New Jersey, passed peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Born in Morristown, New Jersey on May 30, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline J. (Hurlburt) Santillo.

Susan, as she was most often referred to, attended Bernardsville High School and later earned her GED. Catherine went on to earn numerous vocational certificates and started working as a computer operator for several companies including JP Morgan Chase, Pfizer, and PVH Corp., where she retired from in 2020.

Sue was a lover of music and enjoyed the times she spent at concerts with her friends and her daughter. She also enjoyed occasionally attending local live music nights, especially with her sisters. Her last concert was Elton John, spent with her sister Judy, and a friend.

She loved the ocean and enjoyed her years of living by the shore in Atlantic Highlands, NJ spending days out on the boat, fishing, and enjoying the company of friends. She never turned down an opportunity to visit the shore and to feel the salt air spray on her skin or the sun on her face. The ocean always held special memories to her.

Susan also had an affinity for the mountains and spent her early twenties hiking the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire, and working a ski resort in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She felt very much at peace in nature, taking in its beauty, and making friendships that spanned decades.

She loved to travel to see friends, the last trip she took was to North Caroline to visit 2 of her very good friends, whose special friendship has lasted decades.

When she was at home, she enjoyed walking and playing with her Bernadoodle, Kobe.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelsey Fisher-Harvey and her husband Jordan, her 2 Grand-Puppies, Lady and Rory, and Susan's sweet Bernadoodle, Kobe, Easton; sisters, Judith Graham and her husband Robert, NJ; Tina Rinehart and her husband Paul, FL; Patricia Sweeney and her longtime partner, Rick, Spain; brother, Thomas Santillo and wife Nancy, MA.

Susan is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews, and their children. She was extremely close to her extended family and seeing them grow up and have children of their own, was one of her most joyous memories. She loved visiting them and playing with the kids and treated them as if they were her own.

Susan was everyone's mom. She often was an ear to listen to, a friendly face, and a safe space for many of her daughter's friends. Many of those friends, ranging from primary school days through college, considered her a second mom, and have many memories of her and how she always felt like home.

Susan will best be remembered for her infectious "cackle" laugh. It is forever embedded in the memories of those lucky enough to know and love her.  That laughter can now be heard as the waves roll to the shore, the wind blows through the mountains or in a room filled with family and friends, If we only take the time to stop and listen. After all, that's what Susie would want.

Services will be held at St. Catherine's Church, Pittstown, NJ on December 17th with visitation at 11am and Mass to follow at 11:30.

Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton (Palmer Twp.). Online condolences may be made at www.morellofuneralhome.com
