Catherine M. "Kate" Henshaw, 73, of Easton passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her niece's home surrounded by family. Born in Easton on September 3, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Lucille (Decker) Henshaw. Kate graduated from Notre Dame High School. She entered the work force and began her career as a secretary in Easton Area High School's guidance counselor's office.
Kate was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she sang in the church choir and volunteered at the parish center. She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Sodality. Kate had a wonderful voice and liked to sing. She traveled all over the world, enjoying the sights on many cruises. In her younger years, she kept active practicing karate and achieved a black belt second degree.
Kate is survived by her sisters, Marjorie Calandra and her husband, Raymond of Berlin, MD; Jean Beegle and her husband, Richard of Northampton; brothers, Arthur Henshaw and his wife, Corinne of Berlin, MD; Robert Henshaw, Sr. and his wife, Teresa of Bethlehem; James Henshaw, Sr. and his wife, Victoria of Greenbackville, VA; nephews, Matthew Henshaw and his wife, Valerie of Edgewater, MD; Shamus Henshaw and his wife, Shaza of Macungie; Robert Henshaw, Jr. and his wife, Dawn of Bethlehem; Sean Henshaw and his wife, Monica of Bethlehem; Andrew Henshaw and his wife, Hadar of Philadelphia; Ryan Beegle of Northampton; nieces, Christine Benoit and her husband, Greg of Berlin, MD; Amy Simms and her husband, Tim of Ellicott City, MD; Stacy Buchaine and her husband, Dan of Summit HIll; Courtney Searfass and her husband, Harold of Bethlehem; Kristen Beegle of Northampton; and 24 great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) An additional calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Ninth and Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will follow at Northampton Memorial Shrine. Memorial contributions may be made in Catherine's name to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 900 Washington Street, Easton, PA 18042 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
