Charles "Sunshine" Townsend, 84, of Easton, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in his home on what would have been his beloved wife's 81 ^st birthday.

He was born in Yonkers, NY, a son of the late Raymond and Helen (Coyne) Townsend.

Sunshine was married to the former Rose Ann Occhiogrossi until her passing in 2016. He was a graduate of St. Peters Catholic High School; and was a Union Carpenter for 25 years at Arbee Associates, until retiring in 2007.

Sunshine was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Yonk-Heers Athletic and Social Club, St. Anthony's Golden Age Club, and the Easton Hospital Senior Circle. As a member of the Yonk-Heers Athletic and Social Club, Sunshine was an avid hunter, fisherman, and was involved in the organization's charitable endeavors.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class from November 8, 1955 until August 6, 1959.

Sunshine is survived by sons Russell Morvant of St. Augustine, FL, Raymond Townsend and wife Deborah of Upper Moreland, PA, Thomas Townsend and wife Torie of Marriottsville, MD; a daughter KarenAnn Haley and husband Jeff of Easton; grandchildren Zachary, Jordan, Alexander, Emma, Shawn, Jackson, Caleb, Connor, and Camille. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
