Corinne M. Smith

Corinne M. Smith, 90, of Easton, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 with her loved ones by her side. Born on June 7, 1935 in Easton, PA she was the daughter of the late Stephen A. and Clara M. (Handelong) Neimiller. Corinne graduated from Easton Area High School in 1953. In 1954, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Lee E. Smith; they enjoyed 75 wonderful years together. They traveled extensively throughout the years, on bus tours, cruising, and vacationing in Hawaii.

Corinne worked at Fredwell Company after graduation as a switchboard operator. She was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America and past President of the PTA (Parent Teachers Association) in Easton. After staying home to raise her children, she became an employee of the Easton Area School District. She began her employment as a cafeteria monitor at Paxinosa Elementary School, followed by office secretary at the Easton Area High School. Later, she became a secretary at Paxinosa Elementary School, followed by a guidance counselor secretary at the Easton Area Middle School where she remained until her retirement in 1997; working for over 28 years for the district. She was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ, Palmer Twp., PA.

Corinne loved playing pinochle. She was in a card club for many years and hosted parties in her home. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and playing Parcheesi and her grandchildren.

Corinne is survived by her son, Lee Jr. CAPT-USN (Ret.); her two daughters, Jacqueline and Robin; her five grandchildren, Cassandra, Derek, Katie, Kyle, and Kevin; and her great grandchild, Liam.

In addition to her parents, Corinne was preceded in death by her husband, Lee; and brothers, Arthur, and Stephen.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.).
