Obituary

Craig VanFleet, 66, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022 at home in his favorite rocking chair. He was born in Binghamton, New York on June 9, 1956 and grew up in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Frieda VanFleet.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lugene Critelli VanFleet, daughter Melissa VanAllen and son-in-law Tyler VanAllen, as well as sister Dr. Risë VanFleet and brother-in-law Mark Zarichansky. He will also be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Millie Critelli, sister-in-law JoAnne Mercovich, nieces Alli and Jessi Mercovich and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A 1978 graduate of Kutztown University [Kutztown State College], Craig was employed by Everson Electric Company as an armature coil department supervisor until chronic health issues prompted an early retirement. He was the recipient of a kidney donated by his sister which helped extend his life nearly 26 years.

His passion for heavy metal music was a special bond he shared with his daughter. He played multiple instruments, regularly quoted song lyrics and deeply appreciated melodic electric guitar solos. From a young age, he loved watching and participating in sports and was an avid New York Giants fan. He enjoyed woodworking and landscaping around his home.

He graciously opened his heart and his home to his daughter's eight bunnies, most of whom were adopted from PK Rabbit Program. To honor his continuous support of this organization, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Peaceable Kingdom Animal Shelter, 1049 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, Pennsylvania, 18052. Please mention his name and PK Rabbit Program when donating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) Online condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com

A tribute event will be held in his memory at a later date.
