Obituary

Dale Alan Morgenstern, 62, of Easton, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Easton Hospital. Born: Dale was born in Elmira, NY, a son of the late Sayre Andy and Jessie (Groner) Morgenstern, and grew up in Gillett, PA. Personal:Dale was married to the former Shirley Ann Keifer. He graduated from Troy High School, and briefly attended Mansfield University as an English major. Dale was a Mechanical Contractor for Wagman's Co for 7 years and T.C. Wills Co., Inc. for 23 years, many of which he spent as Superintendent. He enjoyed all hours spent on a golf course, especially if they were with his children, whose skill in golf could only be attributed to his unending patience, knowledge and persistence. He loved spending time with his family talking, playing and watching sports and chatting about anything from global warming to the best way to make chilli. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, especially his family, his dog Jake, and his rose bushes, which will not flourish nearly as well without him. Many wonderful hours he spent with golf buddies from Riverview Country Club, and with neighbors who have helped make his last years pleasant. Some of his favorite authors were John Irving, Mark Twain and Tom Clancy. His favorite book was most likely The Bible; his favorite psalm: "this is the day that The Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Memberships:Dale was a member of College Hill Presbyterian Church. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Dale is survived by a son Matthew Alan Morgenstern and wife Karla of West Chester, PA; a daughter Sara Ann Morgenstern-Gallego and husband Francisco of the Bronx, NY; a sister Suzanne Massey of Tulsa, OK; brother Jay Morgenstern of Raleigh, NC; and a granddaughter Olivia Morgenstern. He is preceded in death by brothers Karl and Henry Morgenstern. Services: Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). Memorial Contributions: Contributions in Dale's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
