Dante Danny Montoro, 81, of Easton, PA passed away Sunday, May 9th in Warren Hospital. Born: Danny was born on January 30th, 1929 in Easton, PA a son of the late Raffaele and Carmela Mazza Montoro. Personal: He and his wife the former Carmella Millie Mugavero celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this past Februaury 20th. Danny was employed as a law enforcement officer for 34 years. He began his career in 1956 with the Easton Police Department where he later retired as lieutenant of the department. He then went on to work for the Northampton County District Attorneys Office as a detective. After retiring from there, Danny worked for Morello Funeral Home as a funeral assistant until his final retirement in 2004. He served as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. Memberships: Danny was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th & Lehigh St in Easton where he served as an usher for decades. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Washington Lodge #17of Easton. The County Detectives Association of Pennsylvania, VFW post 1290 of Easton, and the Old Timers Softball League. In his younger days Danny was well noted in the Easton Area for his athleticism and tremendous softball pitching abilities. Survivors: In addition to his wife Millie, Danny is survived by his daughters; Rosemary and her husband Frank LErario of Eastampton, NJ, Patrice Cardell of Palmer Twp., Michele and her Husband Chris Mohr of Phoenix, Arizona, and a granddaughter Kathryn Rose Cardell. He is preceded in death by his sisters Catherine Arcuri and Carmela Minotti, brothers; Ralph, Frank, Joseph, Rocco, Salvatore, Vince, Anthony, Paul and Angelo. Services: Calling hours will be held Friday 6pm-8pm and also Saturday 9:15am-10:15am in the Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Easton (Palmer Twp.) PA 18045. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Anthonys Church 9th & Lehigh St. Easton. Interment will take place in St. Anthonys Cemetery, Williams Twp. PA.
