Obituary

David M. Faulhefer, 65, of York, formerly of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on July 27, 2023, following a brief but brave battle with cancer. A cherished husband, father, and family man, David leaves behind treasured memories with his loved ones and many dear friends.

Born on July 12, 1958, in Cambridge, MA, he was the loving son of Judith Azar Faulhefer and the late Frank Charles Faulhefer and a devoted brother to his beloved sister, Debra Faulhefer. David moved to several states with his family before settling in Butler, NJ, graduating from Butler High School in 1976 and later The Plaza School of Electronics. His career in telecommunications took him first to Western Union and then to AT&T for 35 years.

On the way to a fateful ski trip in 1979, David met his future wife, Barbara Kimler, who found herself charmed by "the funny guy" on the bus. Married in 1980, David and Barbara were together for 43 years and built a home filled with laughter, joy, children, dogs, and a steady, enduring love that carried them through life's many seasons.

David was the cornerstone to his family's foundation and a champion to his two daughters, Sandy Faulhefer (Brian Stengel) and Heather Berwager (Brett). He nurtured his daughters' dreams, encouraged them, and always found a way to keep them laughing. He was a very proud Papa to his four grandsons, Henry Stengel, and triplets Braiden, Brexton, and Bruce Berwager.

An avid outdoorsman, David was a member of Trout Unlimited and enjoyed fly fishing, sporting clay shooting, hunting, and golfing. He was also a passionate home cook, always experimenting with new dishes but never following a recipe. A natural storyteller with a larger-than-life personality, David loved to spend time entertaining friends and family. The memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he bestowed will forever resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
