David E. Tobi Smoke Tobias, 78, of Palmer Twp., devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, June 18th in Easton Hospital.

Born : David was born in Center Twp., a son of the late Floyd and Mabel Tobias.

Personal: David and his wife June, celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 12th. He worked in underground construction maintenance for Jersey Central Power & Light. He was a graduate of Nazareth Area High School, class of 1952. David served in the US Navy during Peacetime. He was a volunteer fireman for Palmer Municipal Fire Dept., and former chief of Riegelsville volunteer fire Dept., and was a life member of both fire depts.

Memberships: David was a member of St. John UCC Church in Riegelsville, a 30-year member of IBEW, and a member of the Four County Firemans Association.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughters Linda and husband Brian Tretiak of Palmer Twp., Carol Tobias, Beverly and husband Ronald Weidner of Nazareth; sisters Ethel Tobias, Doris Baily of Palmer Twp., Patsy Manning of Wind Gap, Susan and husband Donald Huth of Nazareth; brothers Vernon Tobias and wife Barbara of Wind Gap, Barry Tobias and wife Donna of Texas, Ralph Tobias and wife Peggy of Walnutport, Allen Tobias and wife Roseanne of Wilson Boro, Robert Tobias and wife Jane of Pen Argyl, Richard Tobias and wife Carol of Nazareth; grandchildren Hollie Keiter, Brooke Schiavone, Erica Jenschke, Misty Davis, Daniel Newhard; great-grandchildren Nicolaus, Kaylee, Evan, Alexa and Emma Rose. He is preceded in death by a sister Connie Tobias.

Services: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and also Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
