Obituary

Doris Myrtle Hoffman, 91, of Nazareth, PA, passed away Monday, January 24 th , 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital, Easton Campus. Doris was born in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late William and Gladys (Stewart) Weisenbach and was the wife of the late Frederick William Hoffman, Jr.

Doris spent her childhood years growing up in Hillside, NJ, attending Hillside High School and worked for Bell Telephone as an operator. Once married, she no longer sought employment and spent her time raising her family.

She met her husband upon the end of World War II and they married in 1947. They resided a short time in Hillside before moving to Union Beach, NJ in her husband's parents' home. Her husband then started construction of their new home in Whitehouse Station, NJ, where they resided from 1952 to 1993 before moving to Bath, PA. Upon her husband's passing in 2004, she remained in Bath until finally moving to Nazareth, PA in 2016.

Doris is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick W. Hoffman III and Patricia of Annandale, NJ, Donald W. Hoffman and Pamela of Nazareth, PA, James W. Hoffman and Valarie of Walnutport, PA, and William F. Hoffman and Pamela of Cape Coral, FL. She also leaves behind 3 granddaughters, 6 grandsons, 5 great granddaughter and 11 great grandsons. She also was predeceased by her brother, William Weisenbach.

Doris had a tremendous love of dogs and had many throughout her lifetime. Her pets were truly family members, giving her immeasurable comfort and joy. She was very skilled at making ceramics, including firing, glazing, and painting the final product. She also enjoyed her family photos and loved organizing them as she remembered her many loved ones who had already passed.
