Dorothy Arlene Folmar Eck, 93, of Forks Twp., PA, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 in Moravian Village.
She was born on September 27, 1927 in Williamsport, PA, a daughter of the late Louise Ellen Rader Folmar and Sylvester Lewis Folmar.
Dorothy was the loving wife of Paul John Eck, until his passing in 2016. In her younger years, Dorothy worked at the News/Cigar Stand at the former Lycoming Hotel (now Genetti's) and for Eck's Cleaners. She was also a Bell Telephone operator in Williamsport, PA. Dorothy lived in Williamsport, PA; South Williamsport, PA; Granby, Quebec, Canada; Easton, PA; Spartanburg, SC; Albany, GA; Greenville, NC; Charlottesville, VA; and Pen Argyl, PA. She made many friends wherever she lived. She enjoyed playing bridge, and duplicate bridge and bowling when in Georgia and curling when living in Canada. She was active in the Welcome Wagon Club in Easton for many years. In her later years, Dorothy lived at Country Meadows of Forks where she loved playing bingo and cards with her wonderful friends.
Dorothy graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Williamsport, PA, class of 1945.
She was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Margaret "Peggy" Louise Prentiss (husband Jerry) of Forks Twp. and Diane Marie Perin of Rockville, MD; a son Thomas Paul Eck (wife Jean) of Greenville, NC; Grandchildren Deanna Marie Egelston (husband Phillip) of Rockville, MD, Joey Leigh Mack (husband Tim) of Greenville, SC, Michelle Lynn Zanette (wife Jennifer) of Chesterfield, NJ, Scott Nolan Perin (wife Nicole) of Slatington, PA, Michael Joseph Zanette (wife Sharon) of Wall, NJ, Joseph William Zanette (wife Kathleen) of Toano, VA; great-grandchildren Kayla, Kinsley, Morgan, Gianna, Evan, Elijah, Abel, and Isaac; and a sister-in-law Darlyn Folmar; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son Larry Francis Eck who died in 1977 as a result of an automobile accident. She is also preceded in death by a sister Madelyn Catherine Folmar Eck, brothers Sylvester Carl Folmar and John Thomas Folmar; brother-in-law Ernest Eck and sister-in-law Beatrice Folmar.
A calling hour will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm in St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Palmer Twp.
