Edith C. McKnight, 78, of Wall Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at Bridgeway Care and Rehab. Center at Hillsborough, in NJ.

Edith was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Walter and Effie (Norcross) Compton.

Edith was a high school graduate of Upper Darby High School, in PA Class of 1959. Edith later in life went to Monmouth Vocational School and received her nursing degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) and worked many years for Nova Care, in NJ.

Edith enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, cooking and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She had a true passion for animals especially cats and dogs. She loved her beloved dog Sophia Maria.

Edith is survived by her 6 children: Liza Marmo and her husband Gary, of Stewartsville, NJ, Linda LoPiccolo and her husband John, of Palmer Twp., Michelle Bright, of Newnan, GA  John A. McKnight and Alischa  Ardolino, of Point Pleasant, NJ, Heather McKnight and Elliot Clark, of Asbury Park , NJ, and Shannon Brukbacher and her husband Matt of Aurora, CO; 13 grandchildren: Ashlie, Vincent, and Daniel Marmo, Cassandra, Thomas, Cristeina and Julianna LoPiccolo, Erin Bright, Katelynn Kappock , Brayden and  Madison McKnight, Cheyenne McKnight and Elliot Clark Jr., 1 great grandchild Cameron Manochio, a brother Walter Compton, of Elkton, Maryland and nephew, Chip. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son-in-law Gary Bright and a niece Sherri Lyn.

A gathering will be held on Friday, January 10 ^th , 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Easton, PA. Celebration of Life to follow at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ASPCA.
