Name: Edward F. Stokes, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2013. He was a long time resident of the Easton area. Born: Edward was born on March 1, 1921, in Brooklyn, NY, where he also met his wife Mary and married on June 12, 1943. They moved to Staten Island to raise their family before moving to Easton in 1969. He was the son of the late George and Mary Stokes. Edward was an active member in the Easton Community, a member of St. Jane Francis de Chantal Catholic Church, Easton. Edward served during WWII in the US Coast Guard and was an active member of VFW Post 248 in Staten Island, NY for many years rising to the position of Post County Commander. He spent his retirement days at Country Meadows Senior Living Community in Bethlehem with his wife Mary and last year moved in with his son and daughter-in-law in NJ. Career: Edward began his career selling fruit on the streets of Brooklyn, NY using a Push Cart in the 1930s to help support his mother. He continued his career as Plant Manager for Delta Brush in New York City and Operations Manager for Binney & Smith/Crayola, and then Deal Products in Easton, PA. He completed his career as Operations Manager for Molded Acoustical Products in Easton before retiring. Survivors: Edward loved his family and is survived by his sister Theresa of Brooklyn, NY; his son and his wife, George E. & Lovoice Stokes of New Jersey; his daughter Debra Jean Stokes of Easton; his son-in-law Angelo DiBiagio; grandchildren Tina Lippincott & her husband Terry; Angelo DiBiagio, Jr. & his wife Lisa; John R. DiBiagio, Christa M. Wolski & her husband Leonard, Georgette E. Macrina & her husband Giovanni; Christopher McCormick & Matthew McCormick. Additionally, Edward was blessed to share his love with his great-grandchildren Tori & TJ Lippincott; Angelo & Giovanni DiBiagio; Dylan Elizabeth Wolski; Luke & Isabella Macrina; and Hope McCormick. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary and daughter Carol Ann DiBiagio. Services: Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday morning from 8:00am until 10:00am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton PA (Palmer Twp.). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30am in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Easton, PA. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.
