Edwin L. Johnston, Jr., 81, of Forks Township, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. He was the loving husband of Louise Calderone Johnston.

Born February 2, 1938, in Patterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Edwin L. Johnston, Sr., and Lenora Starner Johnston. He grew up in Butler, NJ, and was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon, WV. He completed his Master's in Education and principalship at Kean University, Union, NJ.

Edwin worked in the Rockaway Township, New Jersey, School District for 32 years as a teacher and principal. He was a passionate educator who loved to see the growth and development of students and athletes he coached.

He is survived by a son, Todd Johnston, husband of Christy, of New River, AZ; a daughter, Kelly Seitz, of Sierra Vista, AZ; a stepson, Michael Chromey, husband of Natasha, of Bath, PA; and his three beautiful grandchildren. Edwin is also survived by Douglas Babcock, husband of Carrie, of Apex, NC, whom he mentored and coached during his career and maintained a fatherly relationship.

Edwin was preceded in death by his sister, Caroline Johnston.
