Ekaterini Papoutsidakis, 87, of Easton, peacefully passed away on August 31, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Ekaterini, daughter of the late Athena and Seraphim Karanikas was born in the village of Karpenissi, Greece on June 14, 1939.
She was married to the love of her life for 60 years before her husband Emanuel (Mike) Papoutsidakis passing in 2021. Together, they settled in Easton, PA and opened their family business, Mike’s Steak Shop, for 21 years. She was a faithful member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Easton and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched.
Ekaterini is survived by her brother, Pavlos Karanikas; her three daughters, Constandina Papoutsidakis, Athena Hatzakos (Constandinos Hatzakos), and Georgia Nehme (Nehme J. Nehme); her cherished grandchildren, Vasili Skala (Sophia Skala), Katerina Skala, Manolis Skala, Despina DiBella (Dennis DiBella), Emanuel Hatzakos, Therese Nehme, Katerina Nehme, Alexandria Nehme, and Joseph Nehme; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Katerina Skala, and brothers Dionysios and Stavros DiBella.
A Calling hour will be held on Thursday, September 3 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 319 S. 20th Street Easton, PA 18042. Divine Liturgy will follow in the church at 11:30 AM. Interment will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ekaterini’s memory to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 319 S 20th Street Easton, PA 18042.
