Eleanor L. DeWalt, 87, formerly of Easton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in Westminster Village, Allentown, PA.

Eleanor was born in Ephrata, PA, a daughter of the late Jacob and Helen (Mertz) Kilhefner.

Eleanor was married to David A. DeWalt, Sr., until his passing in 1991. She was a graduate of Ephrata High School, class of 1950, and attended Millersville State Teachers College.

She volunteered as a room mother for many years at Livingstone Elementary School, and she was awarded a PTA Life Membership. She also previously served on the selection group for the West Easton Scholarship Committee.

Eleanor was an excellent cook; she greatly enjoyed holiday preparations and family celebrations. She was an avid reader of books and newspapers, and she often completed several crossword puzzles daily. Eleanor was a member of "The Card Club" pinochle group for more than 50 years. She enjoyed going on shopping trips and on adventures to Atlantic City with friends. Most of all, she especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her children David A. DeWalt, Jr. of Easton, Linda Rush and husband Donald of Easton, Mark DeWalt and wife Teri of Austin, TX, Kyle DeWalt and wife Debbie of Whitehall; her sisters Kathryn Sweigart and Claire Sturtevant, both of Ephrata; grandchildren Donald D. Rush and wife Katy, Matthew Rush and wife Allison, Ryan DeWalt, Cory DeWalt, Tonia Mitchell, Kelly Beltzner; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings James L. Kilhefner, Marian Summers, and Janet Kilhefner.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 noon in the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
