Elias Anthony Symia passed to his eternal reward on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Easton Hospital. He was born on April 8, 1951 to the late Anthony and Rose (Boulous) Symia. He was the beloved husband of Charlene (Joseph) Symia with whom he shared 42 years of love and happiness.

He was proud to be a 1969 graduate of Easton Area High School, where he was a member of one of the most successful football teams in the history of the Easton Areas School District. He was a 1975 graduate of the University of Rhode Island School of Pharmacy. Ellie loved his years in Rhode Island, where he had innumerable cherished family and friends. Ellie spent many enjoyable years living with his Uncle, the Honorable Anthony Solomon, his dear late wife, Sarah, and their family during his memorable years in Rhode Island.

Ellie was a well-known pharmacist in the local area for over 30 years. He was adored by the thousands of Thrift Drug, Shop Rite, and Rite Aid pharmacy customers whom he faithfully served. He was known for the depth of his clinical knowledge and his cheerful devotion to his customers.

Ellie was a charming storyteller who recounted his experiences as he grew up in the Lebanese American neighborhood of the Easton area in the 50s and 60s. Ellie was a dedicated member of his church Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, in Easton. He loved to cook and was celebrated for his famous pasta dishes. Ellie was an avid Yankee fan with an unbelievable recall of statistics about players and games throughout history of baseball.

Most importantly, Ellie was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He demonstrated an incredible love and devotion to family and friends who, in return, loved him dearly. His charming wit and gentle sense of humor generated genuine love and respect in everyone who was fortunate to meet him. His infectious laugh, his indomitable strength, and remarkable courage never disappeared in the years of illness that he endured.

He is survived by his wife and his four wonderful daughters who adored him: Tyra, and her husband Bill Caudill; Elise, and her husband Denny Dreisbach; Toni, and her husband Derek Pijut; and Attorney Edriana Symia. He was extremely proud of his four daughters and their accomplishments in life. He had five grandchildren, who had an extremely special place in his heart: Jake and Sofia Caudill and George, Ellie, and David Pijut.
