Betty A. Dadio, 90, of Bethlehem Township, PA, and Fort Myers, FL, peacefully went home to her Lord on March 14, 2026, surrounded by love. Born Elizabeth Ann Shemancik on November 17, 1935, in Sharpsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna E. (Misinay) Shemancik.
Betty was a graduate of Sharpsville High School. She began her career at First Seneca Bank and later worked in accounting at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, both in Sharon, PA.
On June 27, 1964, Betty married William “Bill” Dadio. Together they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and a deep commitment to family until Bill’s passing in 2008.
In 1973, Betty and Bill made their home in Bethlehem Township, where they lovingly raised their three children. Betty worked in Admissions and Records at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem. She was deeply involved in her community and generously gave her time to others. She served as President of the Farmersville Elementary School PTA, held an officer position in the East Hills Middle School PTA, and coached girls’ basketball and softball for the Bethlehem Township Athletic Association. Betty also taught CCD classes at Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
Betty found joy in the simple pleasures of time spent with family and friends. She loved playing card games—especially bridge, pinochle, poker, rummy, and Mahjong—where laughter and friendly competition were always part of the fun.
She was also an avid sports enthusiast who loved bowling, tennis, and especially golf. Betty enjoyed following Penn State football and cherished the special memories she and Bill made attending the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, GA. Together they were passionate supporters of their children’s teams and activities. They proudly cheered on their daughter Terri throughout her basketball career at Lafayette College and her many years of coaching collegiate volleyball and basketball. One of Betty’s greatest joys in life was following all six of her grandchildren at their school and sporting events.
For more than 20 years, Betty and Bill spent the winter months at Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers, FL, while the warmer months were enjoyed at their beloved home at Lake Hauto in Nesquehoning, PA. They always made sure to spend December in Bethlehem with their family to celebrate the Christmas season.
Faith was at the center of Betty’s life. She was a devoted member of Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, where she loved her church and carried on the many traditions of her faith. She also attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Bethlehem and St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church in Fort Myers.
Betty will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Terri Dadio Campbell (Shawn) of Bethlehem Township; her sons, William P. Dadio Jr. (Barbara) of Bethlehem Township, and Robert Dadio (Susan) of Oak Hill, VA; and her six beloved grandchildren: Casey and Carly Campbell; Kevin, Brian, and Megan Dadio; and Amanda Dadio. She is also survived by her brother John Shemancik and his wife Ellen; her brother-in-law Stephen Dadio and his wife Catherine; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends whose lives she touched with kindness and generosity.
In addition to her parents and her beloved husband Bill, Betty was predeceased by her dear brother Michael Shemancik and his wife Shirley.
Though she will be deeply missed, Betty’s love, faith, and devotion to her family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 1140 Johnston Drive, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
