Esperanza Martínez Vega, 88, of Easton, PA, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021.

She was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Rafael Martínez and Antonia Vega.

Esperanza was a prayer warrior and a loving and devoted mother, sister and friend. She was a florist and a nanny for many years. Later in life, she dedicated herself to serving others and caring for the elderly in her community. She cherished spending time with her family, praying and reading the Bible. She was a member of Iglesia Nuestra Señora de los Angeles, Carolina, PR, where she was a Eucharistic Minister for many years.

Most people called her Epi, but to her grandchildren, she was their one and only Abu.  She is survived by her sons José Oscar Román and Johnny Román; her daughters Evelyn Proffitt and Millie Román-Buday; the father of her children José Antonio Román; grandchildren Savannah Buday, Crystal Francis, Carla Proffitt, Camila Proffitt, Johneida Román, Adiel Román, Jo-Leiny Román, John Gabriel Román; great-grandchildren Ronin Francis, Fiona Esperanza Francis, Annaís Román, Adielys Román, Maylah Román, Milani Román, Shelly-Ann Rosa, Kendall Rosa, and Kevian Rosa; her sisters Rosalia Claudio, Francisca Feliciano, Lydia Feliciano, Antonia Martínez, Catalina Martínez, Georgina Martínez, Matilde Negrón, and Lucrecia Rodriguez.
