Name: Eugene Francis Murphy, 73, of Easton PA, passed away Monday August 31, 2009 in the Hospice House of St. Lukes VNA.

Born: Eugene was born July 1, 1936 in Easton, PA. He was the son of the late Joseph Francis and Gladys (Martin) Murphy.

Personal: He was married to Joan M. (McAuliffe) Murphy for 39 years on November 1st. Eugene was a sales person for Weller Electric for many years. Later, he became a Quality Assurance Inspector at Ingersoll-Rand, retiring in 1998. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from Wilson High School class of 1954 and attended Muhlenberg College.

Memberships: Eugene was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantel Catholic Church, Palmer Twp., the Fleas Club, Citizens Hose and the Avona Volunteer Fire Co. He worked part-time as a bartender and secretary for the Citizens Hose for 40 years.

Survivors: Eugene is survived by his wife Joan, Daughters; Tammi L. wife of Charles Wilson, Palmer Twp., Terri L. Mento and her fiance Thomas McCormack of Bethlehem Twp., Marie E. Heil of Wilson Boro. Son; Joseph W. Murphy of Wilson Boro. Sisters Pauline Murphy and Rita Polidoro both of Palmer Twp., 5 grandchildren; MaryKate, Gina Marie, Amanda Jo Smereczynsky, Malerie C., Alexandria L. Mento. He was pre-deceased by a sister Elizabeth Murphy Burd and a brother John Murphy.

Services: Calling Hours will be held Friday September 4, 2009 from 6pm until 8pm in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Palmer Twp. and on Saturday from 9am until 10:00am in the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am in the Morello Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Northampton Memorial Shrine immediately following the service.
