Eva G. Farhat, 90, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 in St. Luke's Warren Hospital.
She was born in Easton, PA, on August 10, 1931; the daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Baurkot) Barket.
Eva was married to Mansour Farhat until his passing in 1990. She was a graduate of Easton Catholic High School, class of 1948. She owned Union Square Hotel & Bar with her husband for about 40 years and was frequently seen in her earlier years tending bar and conversating with customers. She also worked at Wilshire. Eva enjoyed spending time with her family, holiday gatherings, and watching the Yankees. She also found great joy in "talking about the old days" and was a great source of family history for all.
Eva was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church.
Eva is survived by her children: Susan Karam and husband Emile of Easton, Folee Glosser of Phillipsburg, Frank Farhat and wife Suzanna of Easton, Mansour Farhat and wife Sandra of Phillipsburg, Genevieve "Jenny" Williams of Phillipsburg, Eva Farhat of Phillipsburg, with whom she resided, and Rita Williams of Phillipsburg; her grandchildren: George Karam and wife Lisa, Michelle Karam, Christopher Karam and wife Tina, Jennifer Doran and husband John, Ashley Williams, Erica Williams, Mansour Farhat, and Frank Farhat; a brother Anthony "Red" Burkot and wife Lois of Easton; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by a son-in-law Richard Glosser in October 2021.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with Prayer of the Incense at 7:30 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). An additional calling hour will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 8:15 am to 9:15 am in the funeral home, followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church 4 th & Ferry Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp, PA.
