Name: Evelyn Jean Winters, beloved wife and mother, 69 of Bethlehem Twp, passed away Thursday April 16, 2009 in her home. Her work here being done she joins her Lord and Savior in Heaven. Born: She was born June 11, 1939 in Scranton, PA a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Krohl) Syrylo. Personal: Evelyn and her husband Howard celebrated 46 years of marriage this past February. She was a 1957 graduate of West Scranton High School. Evelyn was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Palmer Twp, where she was active in bible and prayer groups over the years and also volunteered as a collection counter on Sundays. She also volunteered as a poll worker in Bethlehem Twp. for many years. One of her great joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors: In addition to her husband, Evelyn is survived by a son Howard T. and his wife Lisa of Redhouse, WV; daughters Sharmon and her husband Michael A. Beech of Scenery Hill, PA., Julia Geissinger and her husband Glenn of Moore Twp, PA and Jennifer Hahalis and her husband Alex of Moore Twp; sisters Florence Kowalczyk of Honesdale, PA and Kay Golkiewicz of Painted Post, NY; and a brother Peter Syrylo of Clarks Summit; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A sister Helen and brothers Leo, Michael, Edward, Stephen and Frank preceded Evelyn in death. Services: Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4-7 PM and Monday morning from 11:30am until 12:30pm in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm in St. Janes Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave. Easton, 18045. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
