Frances M. Koury, 86, of Easton, PA passed away peacefully at Easton Hospital, on Sunday, November 24, 2019.

Frances was born in Easton, PA, a daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (John) Koury.

Frances was a graduate of Easton Catholic High School and a member of the class of 1950. She was a seamstress for Easton Dress Company, and later worked as a clerk for many years at Thrift Drug in Phillipsburg, NJ. Frances grew up on Lehigh Street in Easton's former "Lebanese Town" and commonly reminisced of the beauty of its lively, close-knit nature. Her nostalgia for Easton's "Lebanese Town" derived mainly from her deep appreciation of her Lebanese heritage and community. She was the recipient of the National Apostolate of Maronites' Silver Massabki Medal Award in 1978 for outstanding service to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, Easton, PA.

Frances was an active member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. She was a dedicated participant of Our Lady of Lebanon's St. Theresa Sodality, Lebanese-American Women's Association, and church choir. More than anything, she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Frances is survived by a brother Deacon Anthony Koury Sr. and his wife Cheffie, of Easton; a sister-in-law Josephine Koury of Easton; nephews Anthony Koury Jr., of Easton, President Judge Michael J. Koury, Jr. and his wife Elaine, of Easton; nieces Catherine Koury, of Easton; Frances Marcus and her husband Jason Marcus of Parker, Colorado; great-nieces Josephine and Rebecca Koury, and Alana Marcus; and great-nephews Michael J. Koury, III and Jaxon Marcus. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother Judge Michael J. Koury.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 54 South 4 ^th Street Easton, PA, with a Prayer of the Incense at 7:30 p.m. An additional Calling hour will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Morello Funeral Home Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, (Palmer Twp). A Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 54 South 4 ^th Street, Easton, PA. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, in Palmer Twp., PA.
