Obituary

Dr. Francis Habo George, 66, originally of Easton Pennsylvania, passed into Eternal Life on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. He was with his beloved wife Jean Drake George. Adored son of the late Habo Joseph and Nancy Isaac George, Francis was born on September 17, 1949 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Loving father, compassionate teacher and caring physician, Francis strong faith and love of family formed his devotion to serving others throughout his life. Francis was a radiologist and family practice physician for over 30 years. Prior to practicing medicine, he taught high school Chemistry and Psychology. He loved to teach. He was a Councilman in the Town of Cheverly, MD, President of the Prince Georges County Municipal Association, and President of the Maryland Municipal League. Francis was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. He was a Member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a fundraising coordinator for ALSAC the support arm of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Francis and Jean volunteered together at Main Street Meals to cook dinners and serve them to local parishioners. Francis is survived and loved by his wife Jean. Cherished brother of Lisa C. Jordan, Raymond M. George and Anthony D. George. Beloved father of Caroline Judith George, Catherine Eileen George, Stephen Francis George, Andrea Drake Mason, and Jared Eric Drake. Adored Uncle and Grand-Uncle of many dear nieces and nephews, and their children. Calling hours for visitation will be held on Wednesday the 21st from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp; the viewing service will culminate with the Prayer of Incense at 7:45 pm. Thursday the 22nd, funeral services will begin at 10:00 am with Divine Liturgy at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church at 4th and Ferry Streets in Easton. Following Mass, interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery. Finally, a mercy meal will be shared with all back at Our Lady of Lebanon Church immediately following. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an institution cherished by Francis.
