Obituary

Name: Fridolin Fred Karp passed away peacefully on January 8, 2014 in Myrtle Beach, SC at the age of 94. Born: He was born on June 27, 1919 in Voelklingen Saarland, Germany; he immigrated to the USA with his family in January 1925. Personal: Fred was a graduate of Churchmans Business School. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, taxidermist and a butcher by trade and owned and operated the K & K Market on Southside Easton for 40 years until his retirement in 1985. He was also employed by the Shafer Bologna Company and Redners Markers. As a WWII veteran, Fred was stationed with the 16th Coast Artillary at Fort Ruger, Oahu, Hawaii, and saw action during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. Memberships: He was a parishioner of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Easton for many years. Survivors: Fred is survived by his son Thomas and wife Diane of Bethlehem Twp.; daughters Barbara Frattini and husband Guy of Myrtle Beach, SC and Judith Karp of Palmer Twp.; grandchildren Meaghan Trout and Michael and great grandchildren Alyson and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, parents Peter and Sofia, brothers Jacob and Henry and sisters Hedwig and Margaret. Services: Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer Twp. will be handling the arrangements.
