Gary Panovec, 83, of Palmer Twp., died on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 peacefully at his home.

Born in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Lucian and Anne (Zimmer) Panovec.

Gary was married to the late Mary Louise Panovec with whom he spent 33 years of marriage with until her passing in 2013. He was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1953. He then attended East Stroudsburg University where he graduated with his degree in Physical Education in 1957. Gary then returned to Wilson High School to coach swimming, Track & Field, Health, Drivers Ed and Physical Education until his retirement in 1988. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Antietam.

Gary was a generous and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved family gatherings and outings with longtime friends. He told wonderful stories of his childhood at Bushkill Creek and the family farm. He was a true man's man who loved fishing, hunting, cars, sports and the United States of America. He enjoyed Big Band music and dancing.He was much loved and will be missed by many.

Gary is survived by three children Timothy Panovec, Donna Johnson and Linda Panovec; two step children, Michael Earl and Kathleen Corpe; a sister, Pat Dexheimer. Pappy, as they called him was blessed with and loved by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gary now resides in Heaven, reunited with the love of his life Mary Louise, dancing the jitterbug to the angel's choir.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00pm to 1:30pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.), followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Online Condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com
