George M. Baurkot, 84, of Easton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was a well loved and respected member of the Lebanese Community and he will be greatly missed by all who sought his help for whatever reason.
George was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late Raymond and Margaret (Unis) Baurkot.
George was married to the former Patrice Mahon. He was an Attorney for Baurkot & Baurkot Law Firm in Easton. George was a graduate of Easton Catholic High School class of 1952; Georgetown Law School; and Seton Hall University, class of 1956. He served in the US Army in the National Guard.
George was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, Pennsylvania Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, and Northampton County Bar Association.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by a daughter Mary Sue Tumminello and ex-son-in-law Tony Tumminello; sons Daniel and wife Peggy, Robert and wife Becki, David and wife Michelle, George and wife Cathy; a sister Sanna, brothers Raymond and Samuel, all of Easton; a cousin Anthony "Red" Burkot and wife Lois; grandchildren Elizabeth and spouse Matt Kopp, Patrick, Mary Catherine, Sophia and fiancé Kurt Coutu, Elena, Juliana, Christopher, Christina and husband Chris Conlin, Nicholas, Matthew, Anthony, Ava, Adam, Shannon, Ryan; and a great-granddaughter Addison Kopp. He is predeceased by a brother Unis and a sister Susanna.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Prayer of the Incense at 8:30 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). An additional calling hour will be held on Saturday from 8:00 am to 9:00 am in the funeral home, followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4 th & Ferry Streets, Easton, PA. In addition to calling hours on Friday, the family will receive anyone who wishes to express condolences in Our Lady of Lebanon church hall at 55 South 4 th Street, Easton, on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp.
