Gerard E. Mehlig, 89, of Easton, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Easton Hospital.
Gerard was born in New York City, NY, a son of the late Clemens and Margaret (Torpey) Mehlig.
Gerard was married to the former Marion DeGraugh before her passing in 2014. He attended college at Forham University. He served in the US National Guard. Gerard was a Court Clerk for the New York Supreme Court. He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church where he served as Senior Usher at the Noon Mass, and Knights of Columbus in New York.
Gerard is survived by sons Edmund Mehlig and wife Terry of Palmer Twp., George Mehlig and wife Helen of New Windsor, NY, Gerard Mehlig, Jr and wife Kim of Walden, NY; daughters Patricia Shellhorn of Baltimore, MD, Catherine Vitko and husband John of Palmer Twp., Linda Angelini and husband Mark of Bayside, NY; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). An additional calling hour will be held on Saturday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 1:00 pm in St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Palmer Twp.
