Obituary

Gina DePaolis Germano, 91, formerly of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 29, 2017.

Gina was born on January 15, 1926 in Phillipsburg, NJ, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Angela (DiGirolamo) DePaolis.

Gina attended Brensinger Elementary School in Phillipsburg, Taylor School, Wolf Junior High School, and Easton High School, graduating in the class of 1943. She was an active member of the reunion planning committee for her class. She was married to the late Jack J. Germano until 1958. Gina was a retiree of the State of Pennsylvania, having worked in the Unemployment Office and the Department of Public Welfare, both in Easton. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton, and was very devoted to the Blessed Mother, having visited three of her Shrines, in Fatima, Portugal, Lourdes, France and Mexico City, Mexico.

Gina is survived by a daughter Elaine Germano, of Glenford, NY, and her step-son William Zeke Ricci of Santa Fe, NM; a son Joseph David Germano and wife Marilyn, of Bellevue, WA, their son David Germano of Los Angeles, and their daughter Rebecca Germano who is in graduate school in New Zealand; two great-grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; sisters Laura DePaolis Contuzzi, Eve DePaolis Johnson, Mary DePaolis Azzalina; and a dear friend Theresa Azzolina Caponigro. She is preceded in death by a sister Edith DePaolis Transue.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, June 12 from 8:15 am to 9:15 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 12 at 10:00 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th & Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. Interment will be in St. Anthonys Mausoleum, Williams Twp.
