Grace A. (Sanguedohe) Alercia, 98, of Easton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, surrounded by her daughter and grandaughter. Born in Easton on June 14,1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jenni (Guinni) Sanguedohe.
Grace spent many years working as a seamstress at the Northampton Pants Factory and later in the housekeeping department at Lafayette College. Known for her strong work ethic and gentle nature, she remained active well into retirement through volunteer service at Easton Hospital and the Crayola Experience. Grace loved keeping busy, taking walks throughout her neighborhood, and treasured the time she spent with her family, great-grandchildren and their furry companion Rylee.
A lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Grace found comfort in her faith. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Alercia Vulcano; her granddaughter, Michele Vulcano Hall, and her husband, Ryan Hall; and her great-grandchildren, Evan Rocco Hall and Ava Grace Hall.
In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel P. Alercia, in 2016; her daughter, Toni Ann Alercia, in 1957; her son-in-law, Pat Vulcano Jr.; her brothers, John and Anthony; and her sisters, Sadie Foanio and Theresa Strauss.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 9th and Lehigh Streets, Easton, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Williams Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Grace’s name may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice House, 2455 Black River Road, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
