Grace D. Saxe, 87, formerly of Swiftwater passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Born in 1936, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mildred (Cataldo) Benkoski.

She graduated from Tobyhanna High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Nelson Saxe. Grace and Nelson married in 1958 and lived in Hillsborough, NJ for 20 years raising their children. During that time, she worked as a dental receptionist for Dr. Pullen, Peterson, and Brower's Dental Office. Upon retirement, they moved to Swiftwater, PA. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary before Nelson's passing in 2014. She volunteered and taught English as a Second Language at the Hillsborough Public Library in Hillsborough, NJ. Grace enjoyed playing the piano, swimming, knitting, quilting and tending to her plants and garden.

Grace is survived by her children, Peter Saxe of Alexandria, VA, Rachel Saxe and her companion, John Tyrrell of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister in laws, Una Jane Sterba, Carol Benkoski, Carol Franks; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Grace was preceded in death by her siblings, Marie Takach, Joan Pykosh, and W. Vincent "Vince" Benkoski.
