Obituary

Guido L. Florindi, 87, of Easton, PA, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 in Easton Hospital. Born: Guido was born in Citta St. Angelo, Italy, a son of the late Pantaleone and Francesca (Columbaro) Florindi. Personal: Guido was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1947. He also was a graduate of Chicago School of Aircraft Instruments; and Lincoln School of Welding in Cleveland, OH. He served his country during World War II, in the South Pacific in the USN Seabees, 37th Bat, and 523 CBMU, and also served on the USS Cavalier during the Korean War. Guido was a Maintenance Foreman for Met-Ed, Portland Plant for 38 years, before retiring in 1987. He was a Welding Instructor for the former Northampton County Vo-Tech School (now the CIT) for adult evening classes and substitute for daytime classes. He coached the Old Saints Easton Midget football, basketball, and baseball teams. Memberships: Guido was a member of Easton 152 Free Accepted Masons, Tall Cedars of Lebanon #35 and past Grand Tall, Valley of Allentown 32nd degree Mason, Rajah Temple Shrine, Forks of the Delaware Shrine Club and past President, Fleas Club of Eason, Citizen Hose, American Legion Brown & Lynch Post #9, VFW, life member of Lt. E.C. Baker Post 1290, life member of Wilson Borough Republican Club, St. Johns UCC of Farmersville, past member of Mt. Zion UCC in martins Creek serving on the consistory as and Elder, Deacon, and President of the Consistory, National AARP, AARP of Palmer Township #2144, and a past member of Varsity E Club. Survivors: Guido is survived by a son Richard L. Florindi and wife Beth of Easton; daughters Karen F. Warner of Bethlehem, Karla M. Florindi of Wilson Boro, Kathy A. Florindi of Hellertown; grandsons Corey, Cody and Daulton Florindi. He is preceded in death by sisters Teresa Perelli, Lucy Dudish, Mary DeBernardo; a brother Carl Florindi; and his former wife Patricia Martin. Services: Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and also Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp). A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.
