Guido Sigismondi, 88, of Easton, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 in St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus.
He was born on May 7, 1933 in Monte San Giovanni Campano in Lazio, Italy, a son of the late Rocco and Giovanna (Roscioli) Sigismondi.
Guido was married to his beloved wife, the former Santa Rinaldi, for 57 years until her passing in 2015. He attended school in Italy and later served in the Italian military. While growing up, he worked on the family farm to help sustain his family, growing vegetables and raising chickens and rabbits. In 1956, Guido's parents came to the United States. While in the Easton area, they frequented a local grocery store, where they met a young woman originally from Sicily. Showing her a photo, they asked if she wanted to go back to Italy to marry their son. She said yes, and after getting married they spent 8 months in Italy together celebrating their marriage. In 1958, Guido immigrated to the United States with his new wife. He raised his family in Southside Easton, in a house that he proudly built himself. He worked at Ingersoll Rand for 28 years as a machinist in the pump division. After his retirement, Guido spent many joyful days attending his grandchildren's sporting events, traveling, gardening, and spending time with family, the most important part of his life. Guido will be remembered by all who knew him as the epitome of a kind, gentle man.
Guido was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church; he attended Mass at St. Mary's Chapel before its closing several years ago.
Guido is survived by his daughters Maria Powell of Williams Twp., Joanne Fabian and husband Michael of Williams Twp.; grandchildren Lauren Appezzato and husband Nick, Megan Powell, Michael Fabian, and Hannah Fabian; great-grandchildren Nicholas, Ella, Olivia, and Sofia. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Iole Gneo.
