Harvey Dutter, 79, of Palmer Twp. (formerly of Pottsville), went to be with his Lord surrounded by family at St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill, on Friday, May 10 th , 2019.
Harvey was born in Pottsville, PA the only son of the late Harvey and Dorothy Dutter. He and his beloved wife, the former Carol Jean Travis would have celebrated their 57 th wedding anniversary on June 23 rd .
Harvey was a 1958 graduate of Pottsville High School. He honorably served his country for 22 years, retiring from the United States Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was proudly employed by Pentamation, Inc., and lastly First Star Savings Bank where he retired from as a home loan officer. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church in Palmer Twp. Where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and as a volunteer for multiple retreat teams and programs. Harvey was a member of the Knights of Columbus union Council 345 and he was also a fourth-degree knight of the Pope Pius the XII Assembly.
In addition to his wife Carol, Harvey is survived by his son David Dutter of Palmer Twp., a daughter Christine Dutter-Goodman also of Palmer Twp., grandchildren: Christopher Dutter, Victoria Lyons, Annalisa Dutter and Nicole Goodman. A sister in-law Eileen Chernosky and her husband William of Minersville, PA, nephews William "Buddy" Chernosky and his wife Tammy of Forestville, PA and Richard Chernosky and his wife Rose of Buck Run, PA and their families.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and also Wednesday 8:30 am - 9:30 am in the Morello Funeral Home Inc 3720 Nicholas St. Palmer, Twp., PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am in St Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church 4049 Hartley Ave. Palmer Twp., PA followed by interment in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. Contributions in Harvey's name may be made to St. Janes Church 4049 Hartley Ave Palmer Twp., PA 18045.
