Ida A. Sterner, 94, of Easton passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, in Manor Care in Easton. Born in Augsburg, Germany on September 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George and Ida (Braun) Stumbock. She married Richard Henry Sterner on July 24, 1953 in Germany. He was a United States Air Force Airman 1st Class which brought Ida to the United States and she received her naturalized citizenship on May 25, 1959. Together, they shared over 66 years of marriage before his passing in 2020.
Ida devoted her life to her family, raising her children in Easton and then Wilson Boro. She was the best kind of support in anything you did and was a good listener. She loved her children, loved being a grandmother and great grandmother until dementia robbed her of that joy. She was a terrific baker and cook. She loved to travel (especially) with her family to which we had many adventures and fun. She also loved to shop! There were many "girl" weekends with her daughters to Williamsburg, VA. She made many friends through church helping with pasty sales.
Ida is survived by her daughters, Susanne DeAngelo, Cynthia Snyder; sons, Ronald Sterner, Kenneth Sterner; grandchildren Michael DeAngelo Jr., Christopher DeAngelo, Torri Lynn Sterner (Zapata); great-grandchildren Damian Zapata, Benjamin Zapata, Luka Zapata, Gabriel Zapata and Michael D. DeAngelo III.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ida was preceded in death by a grandson, George J. Borowski III.
