Isidore was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late Charles and Fannie (Vulcano) Mineo.

Bill graduated from Easton High School, Lafayette College with Honors in Chemistry, and the University of Massachusetts with a PhD. in Chemistry. Dr. Mineo was employed as a research chemist by DuPont, Wilmington, DE. As a volunteer, he embraced the challenge of changing the barren superfund site at Lehigh Gap, Palmerton Area, to the functional natural habitats thriving there today. Active as a board member of the Lehigh Gap Nature Center for many years, he received an Excellence in Site Use Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency in 2014.

For many years Dr. Mineo served on the Northampton County Open Space Advisory Board and later in retirement also served on Williams Township Land Preservation Board. He enjoyed being a Trustee and the Historian of the Holy Cross Society, Letto Santo, of Easton. Prior to and during retirement, he and his wife practiced sustainable agriculture providing a variety of produce, herbs and cut flowers for direct sale and farmer's markets. From 2003 through 2010 they helped save and revitalize the Easton Farmer's Market, serving as market managers in 2007, a pivotal year for the Easton Farmer's Market. Bill loved fishing, hunting, traveling, cooking, and gardening; but most of all he loved his family. He will be greatly missed.
