James J. Balzano, 94, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 in Country Meadows Nursing Home.

James was born in Old Forge, PA, a son of the late Nicola and Lucia (Matrone) Balzano.

James was married to the former Rita Talerico until her passing in 2016. He was a proud vet who fought in the European Theatre during World War II. James received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Scranton in accounting, and later became an auditor for the IRS.

He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church.

James is survived by a son Nicholas J. Balzano and wife Diane; daughters Rita A. Balzano, Maria Guffy and husband Robert; his sisters Rose Marie Colondo, Jean Collier and husband George; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
