Obituary

James F. Berg (Jim), 54, of Palmer Twp., PA, passed away on December 23, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. He was happily married to his bride, Joan Berg, nee Donohue, with whom he celebrated 27 years of marriage this past June. Together they had three children: James, Danielle, and Thomas. Jim was the son of Frederick and Dolores (Florek) Berg and was born in Redwood Falls, MN. In addition, he leaves behind his sister Monica (husband Conan) Stanton, brothers Joe (wife Tracy), John (wife Melanie), Mike (wife Debra), and Marty (wife Jenny), as well as his "twin" brother-in-law Joe VanThuyne and Anne, Joan's twin sister; and many, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will dearly miss his smile and gregarious personality.

Jim enjoyed a 34-year career at Morton buildings, as an accomplished Sales Consultant and Sales Manager, making life long relationships with his co-workers and customers. He never viewed it as work and enjoyed every day meeting new people and taking care of their needs.

Jim loved to play sports, tailgate at Penn State with family and friends, and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He was always the life of the party making sure everyone was full of laughter. More than anything, Jim cherished his family.  He was his wife and kid's biggest fan and supporter. He wanted nothing but the best for his family focusing on their lives, activities, and goals. After working long hours Jim poured his time and energy coaching them in youth soccer and coordinated the St Jane's CYO soccer program for 9 years. He found great joy in exercise, running with Joan on the trail, gardening, and all physical challenges including hunting, and his annual cross-country snowmobile trip across Canada.
